The requirement was for the bookshelves in the passage to function as a stand-alone element, motivate the students to read, and complement the existing the Word and number Workshop in the common room.

Our starting point was therefore the Word and Number Workshop; some children play voluntarily with words and letters, while others become motivated when they understand that the written word can be an aid to achieving their goals; but all children enjoy the world of opportunities that books bring.

The result was a stand-alone annex to the library with a reading corner for concentration and shelves for the storage and display of books.

In the reading corner, the students enjoy the peace and quiet while sitting or lying. Being half a meter above the floor, it also gives them a natural vantage point of the room.

The space under the reading corner is used to park the book trolleys, which can store such things as class sets for the preschool or kindergarten.
